With a massive built-in audience across platforms (7.9M on YouTube, 2.4M on TikTok, and 1.5M on Instagram), The Try Guys tapped Something New to create and host the final challenge for the upcoming season of Drop Into City - their Amazing Race–style competition series. The challenge needed to deliver real stakes for the players while translating cleanly to screen, keeping viewers just as engaged as the competitors themselves.
We took the teams to the Santa Monica beach, where we transformed three of our fan-favorite carnival games into a custom, winner-take-all circuit challenge. Designed specifically for head-to-head competition, the games were adapted to heighten tension, pace, and momentum - creating clear wins, dramatic swings, and laugh-out-loud moments. Because our games are inherently physical, visual, and a little ridiculous, the challenge felt tailor-made for social media and episodic content - delivering a finale that was as fun to watch as it was to play.

Case Study
Three-Game Package
The challenge featured Squirrel Throwing, Pickle Toss, and Bigfoot Hunt — three fast, physical, and highly visual games that were perfect for back-to-back, head-to-head competition. With simple rules and big, expressive moments, the games created clear wins, quick momentum shifts, and nonstop reactions, making them just as exciting to watch as they were to play.

Head-To-Head Circuit
We specially designed a three-game circuit to create a smooth, escalating challenge that tested different skills while keeping the pace fast and competitive. By chaining the games together into a single sequence, the circuit built tension from round to round, rewarded consistency under pressure, and delivered a clear, dramatic finish for both the players and the audience.
Features & Add-Ons
The rentals came with full-service support from Something New as a carnival game vendor, turning the setup into a seamless, end-to-end experience.

Circuit Design
The custom three-game circuit was designed to build momentum and tension, creating a clear competitive arc from start to finish.

On-Camera Hosting
On-camera hosting kept the challenge moving, explained the stakes clearly, and amplified the drama for both players and viewers.

Expert Facilitation
Expert facilitation ensured fair play, fast resets, and smooth transitions, allowing the competition to stay intense and entertaining.

Why it Worked
It worked because the challenge paired simple, high-energy games with a tight circuit structure, creating real stakes without slowing the action. The format delivered constant momentum, clear outcomes, and big reactions - making it equally compelling for the competitors on the beach and the millions of viewers watching on screen.
